St. Joseph Volunteer Committee
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.”
— Matthew 25:35–40
Inspired by Matthew 25:35-40 and the Corporal Works of Mercy, our mission is to serve Christ’s needs in the midst of our neighbors by providing food, clothing, sleeping accommodations, support, and fellowship. By restoring human dignity, we seek to demonstrate God’s presence, love, mercy, and compassion in the world.
The Committee is committed to discovering ways to serve our community by engaging and coordinating with new and current ministries.
Current Partnerships/Volunteering Events Include:
- Sleep in Heavenly Peace - building beds for kids
- Texas Ramp Project - building ramps for the elderly and disabled
- Missionaries of Charity - assisting the sisters with their street ministry
- Christian Community Services Center - various events helping those in need in our community
- Baking Ministry - providing homemade baked goods for parish events and funerals
- Juvenile Prison Ministry - leading Bible studies and providing mentorship to youth
We invite all parishioners to participate in this mission, whether through volunteering, donations, or prayers, so that together we may be the hands and feet of Christ in our community.
