Losing a family member can be one of the most difficult and painful experiences a person will go through. It is important to have a solid support system of friends and other family members during such devastating times.

Eucharistic Ministers
It is a privilege and sacred task to become an Extraordinary minister of the Holy Eucharist and a blessing to those who are chosen. The ordinary ministers of Holy Communion are the priest and deacon. Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion may be appointed to facilitate the distribution of Holy Communion within Mass when there is a large number of communicants.
Lectors
The lector is instituted to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel. He may also announce the intentions for the Universal Prayer and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings. Having the opportunity to study and then proclaim the word of God is such a gift. This commitment allows the parishioner to be the “voice” for God’s Word and share this with the community.
Social Ministry
“I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.” -- Matthew 25:35-36
The Social Ministry Office provides financial assistance (rent and utilities), food, and/or spiritual support, and other assistance as deemed necessary. The Food Pantry serves parishioners and residents in zip codes 77007, 77008, and 77009.
Ushers
Ushers and Greeters are called to be Ministers of Hospitality. They are entrusted with promoting a sense of welcoming and belonging to all the faithful assembled for worship. They are the first point of contact for the communal celebration of the Liturgy and because of this, should take special steps in being living representatives of the Parish Mission Statement.
