Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted Mt,5:4
Losing a family member can be one of the most difficult and painful experiences a person will go through. It is important to have a solid support system of friends and other family members during such devastating times.
The BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE is a group of women who have volunteered to serve those who are experiencing the loss of a loved one by preparing a meal for the bereaved and to assist with a meal for out of town guests who may be attending the funeral. It is a time when the family and friends of the deceased are able to come together with a meal, conversation and shared memories.
We provide assistance for parishioners requesting it. Numerous times we go to homes or halls, in lieu of the cafeteria at St. Joseph, because of the seating capacity of 50 people.
There is no charge for this service, and we are not funded by the Church so a donation to the Committee would be appreciated!
For more information about this ministry, or to join please contact Cindy at 713-303-1119 or Gloria at 713-882-7075
To request services of the Bereavement Committee for an upcoming funeral, please call Cindy, Gloria or the Parish Office as soon as possible to advise the date and other pertinent information.
